How to play downloaded movies., Includes Extract, original copy, codecs
As I get these days many queries regarding failure to paly the downloaded media files; So i think this thread will help those who get stuck after downloading the movie file.

1. COMPRESSED FILES: Most of the movies you download from this site are somewhat compressed (or commonly zipped). So based upon the file EXTENSION, (i.e. the LAST 2-3 characters after the DOT in filename, heee..Do I need to go in such detail:? );

a. If it is .ZIP => use Winzip or Windows Xp has built in support to unzip those files.

b. If it is .RAR => use WinRAR (download free version) to UnRAR that file.
Sometimes chunks of .RAR files are inter-related, i.e. YOU NEED ALL .RAR FILES, before unRARING, which would buid up finnally a single VIDEO file.

Some of the files might have password protections, if so, then it will be posted on the thread itself where the link was posted or at the download page.

2. MEDIA FILES: Sometimes you get direct media files or after uncompressing the file you will be left with the media files (or video files).

Now once again check the extension of the video file, by looking on the filename.

a. WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER: Generally Windows Media Player plays most of the media files, .i.e with extension '.wmv,.dat,.mpeg,.asx'. BUT for some files having extension '.avi', which has been encoded into Divx or Xvid you need codecs to play them.

So for AVI,WMV,ASX,DAT,MPEG,MPG files you can use windows media player, it provides better picture and sound quality.

b. REAL PLAYER: Second most popular file format you might run into while downloading the video file is real media file(i.e. .ram,.rm,.rmvb,.3gp). to play these files you need Real one player (www.real.com), which you can get for free.

c. QT PLAYER: Some of the files may be encoded into .QT file format. You need Appples QuickTime player (http://www.apple.com) to play those files.

d. VLC PLAYER: If still the movie file cannot be played, then there is a chance that file might be corrupted during downloading. But luckily, you might still be able to play those files using VLC Player. (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/)
